Tom Roston is a veteran journalist and author of two previous Singles Interviews, with Ted Allen and Ken Burns. Roston began his career at The Nation and Vanity Fair, before working at Premiere magazine as a senior editor. He is a frequent contributor to The New York Times and his book, I Lost It At The Video , a filmmakers' oral history, will be published by The Critical Press in September. He lives with his wife and their two daughters in New York City.

Lily Tomlin is astute yet accessible, as usual. I have been so fond of her for so very long, and enjoyed reading something current from her to remind me of her natural brilliance. The interviewer is thoughtful in drawing out her answers. I was not familiar with the author previously and want to see what else he has published.Product details

Not the best of interviews. I was hoping for more. I love Ms. Tomlin
Roston's interview becomes a brief biography of Lilly! She was so open and real with her responses. Lilly gave huge credit to Jane Wagner, her partner of 40 something years, as the writer of so much of Lilly's stage material. Lilly's the extrovert; Jane the introvert complementing each other beautifully Look forward to movie, Granny, and Netflixs' Grace and Frankie. Enjoy!! . .
Lily Tomlin has always been a favorite of mine. Her characters have made me laugh on Laugh In and on the stage. This interview brings the reader a bit closer to the lovely woman behind the characters. Lily is upfront with her answers and doesn't shy away from any subject. Enjoy your visit with this wonderful lady!
I love Lily Tomlin ever since watching her on Laugh In as a very young kid. She always makes me laugh, whether in movies or when I see her interviewed. This read won't disappoint, either.
It was interesting but jumped around a lot it was hard for me to follow but I gave it three stars because I did enjoy it
I don't usually read interviews, but Lily Tomlin is just different. And this interview shows it. She's just real, humble, and honest
I remember waiting in line to buy tix for Appearing Nightly and she came out in character in a Red Cross nurses uniform passing out coffee and donuts. And that startlingly funny gesture as the Singles Bar Cruiser, where she adjusted herself. Where's my record of that, I wanna hear the I Love Lucy theme again.
But the Smyth Hotel?
